Virgin Galactic is the company that aims to provide suborbital spaceflights to space tourists and suborbital launches for space science missions. The challenge consisted in design the "**Booking a Flight**" feature for their website.

The challenge sounded exciting, especially since there was a course to win in the competition. The main problem with this task was that I could not consult with the supposed client. Well, maybe I could, but I didn't want to be officious. I started with a detailed study of the task, research, and a review of Virgin Galactic website. I conducted some interviews, summarized the information, drew a wireframe, created an interactive prototype and asked about 10 people to test it.

UX Challenges

No requirements or information from the Virgin Galactic.

UX Goals

Design „book the flight” feature on Virgin Galactic website.
Research
I have analyzed the data, taking into account Concorde passengers, and interviewed 5 people from the target group. I have also analyzed the current solutions for booking flights. I have familiarized myself with the data on design for users performing stressful activities under pressure. The main conclusions were:
- the person booking the flight will be under a lot of stress
- he/she might still need a moment to think about after he knows the price
- it will be something exciting and unique
- user will probably only go through this process once in a lifetime

Coclusions
- The website can not be overloaded,
- Use familiar patterns,
- Explain what is included in the price, avoid price changes,
- The experience must be consistent and coherent,
- A lot of space so that the information is not overwhelming,
- Let the process be carried out quickly but also offer enjoyable, personalized experience
Design and testing
I drew the screens and made some quick sketches of the process. Then I proceeded to create a layout in Adobe XD. There were some new issues that I hadn't thought about before. (For example, should it be possible to book a flight for two people?) When the prototype was ready, I asked about 10 people to test it. Everyone found the process simple and easy to go, I got a technical observation about marking the possibility of going back to the previous page at one of the stages. Some people also thought that maybe the interface is too simple, not exciting. I also asked a couple of people if they would prefer to be called by name or by Mr/Ms, the opinions were divided, rather with a predominance of a less formal form.
